Broadcast Monitoring
When MTV set out a three year programme for a technology upgrade at its Camden Town HQ, Senior Systems Engineer Rob Cranfield knew that the front end monitoring would represent the final phase. The Master Control Room (MCR) and equipment hub have now been completely overhauled, the former old-technology CRT displays making way for a Christie solution. Read the full story
Security
When Dnata Cargo rebranded their terminal operation in Dubai, UAE, Emirates Security Control Centre chose Christie to provide a state-of-the-art display wall for its 24/7 surveillance operations, in a joint venture with Emirate Support Services. Telecommunications
Christie was selected to power AT&T’s 12 foot high by 250 foot wide video wall housed in their global network operations center (GNOC) located in Bedminster, NJ. The video wall operates 24/7, 365 days a year. The previous video wall solution, also installed and integrated by Christie, ran almost continuously for over 61,000 hours of operation. One of the largest video display walls in the world, Christie installed a record 141 Christie rear projection modules, one of the most powerful 1-chip DLP® rear-projection displays available today, for AT&T’s GNOC. Transportation
Ansaldo Signal NV Group (The Netherlands), which retains 13% of the world market for train signalling and automatic traffic control recently won a public tender drawn up by Italfer (Italian Railways) for the implementation of six of the Centralized Traffic Controls or CTCs to be built at the most important train junctions on the Italian peninsula; of which the Pisa terminal is one. Utilities
EirGrid, Ireland’s electricity transmission system operator, was established in 2006 to take over the functions of the National Grid business unit of the country’s Electricity Supply Board (ESB). This move was deemed necessary following an EU directive compelling member states to split the power generation and power transmission functions into separate entities.. Read the full story
